Dev Darshan - translates as "homage to the Gods".
Devdarshan dhoop - sometimes written as Dev Darshan dhoop - is a soft incense, produced at Samana in the Indian state of Punjab. It's made using desi ghee (clarified butter / butter oil) plus spices and perfumed oils.
It looks like small sticks of liquorice, but has a texture similar to plasticine... you can mould it to whatever shape you like, although it burns best as a stick or narrow cone.
Devdarshan dhoop has a gentle, sweet floral fragrance, which is very typically Indian.
It comes in a colourfully-decorated box which contains ten 3 inch (7cm) dhoop sticks, each of which burns for around 50 minutes, depending on conditions.
Devdarshan, Dev Darshan, dhoop, soft incense, Indian incense, incense from India, Punjabi dhoop, traditional, desi ghee dhoop.
