Devdarshan
dhoop - sometimes written as Dev Darshan dhoop - is a soft incense, produced
at Samana in the Indian state of Punjab. It's made using desi ghee
(clarified butter / butter oil) plus spices and perfumed oils.
It
looks like small sticks of liquorice, but has a texture similar to
plasticine... you can mould it to whatever shape you like, although it
burns best as a stick or narrow cone.
Devdarshan
dhoop has a gentle, sweet floral fragrance, which is very typically
Indian.
It
comes in a colourfully-decorated box which contains ten 3 inch (7cm)
dhoop sticks, each of which burns for around 50 minutes,
depending on conditions.
