Tiger Balm started its journey to the West more than 100 years ago, when the imperial court herbalist Aw Chu Kin left China to set up his humble medicine shop in the city of Rangoon in Burma (Myanmar). He took with him the formula of a unique herbal ointment, made to relieve and soothe aches and pains. To continue the legacy he created, his sons - Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par - took the secrets of Tiger Balm to Singapore in the 1920s. Ever since then, Tiger Balm has grown to become one of the world's leading traditional remedies. Its unique formulation contains camphor, menthol, cajuput oil and clove oil. It contains no animal products and is not tested on animals. |
