Postage & Packing Charges

We firmly believe in giving you a fair deal on postage & packing (shipping & handling) costs. We base our charges on what it costs us to send your order, plus the cost of the packaging materials used. These costs are added to your order, calculated on the total weight of the package, as shown below:

Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday only (except Bank / public holidays). Orders received before 1pm are usually packed and dispatched the same day (size / carrier permitting).

• For delivery within the United Kingdom: PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 10 DAYS FOR DELIVERY.  Orders for delivery to addresses within the UK (including Northern Ireland, the Hebrides, Orkney Islands, Shetland Islands, Isles of Scilly and Channel Islands) are normally dispatched within 1 working day of receipt of the order.  You can choose from delivery by:-
  

• Royal Mail 48™ parcels -up to a weight limit of 2kg. (Heavier items are sent by Royal Mail 24™ parcel.) Items are NOT tracked. Delivery aim is 2 - 3 working days, but the length of time for delivery is NOT guaranteed. 
  

• Royal Mail 24™ parcels - up to a weight limit of 20kg. Items are NOT tracked. Delivery aim is the next working day, but the length of time for delivery is NOT guaranteed. 
  

• Budget courier delivery - up to a weight limit of 15kg. Normally using myHermes couriers. Please note that additional charges may apply for budget courier delivery to the Isle of Man, the Hebrides, or Orkney and Shetland. Not available to the Channel Islands. All items are tracked as they progress through the courier's delivery system, and a signature is required on delivery. The delivery aim is around 4-5 working days, but the length of time for delivery is NOT guaranteed.
  

• Standard courier delivery - up to a weight limit of 20kg. (We will select the most appropriate courier in each case - usually either TNT, CityLink or Yodel.) Please note that additional charges may apply for courier delivery to the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, the Hebrides, or Orkney and Shetland. All items are tracked as they progress through the courier's delivery system, and a signature is usually required on delivery. The delivery aim is around 3-4 working days, but the length of time for delivery is NOT guaranteed.
  

• SPECIAL DELIVERY (NEXT DAY) WITHIN THE UNITED KINGDOM - up to a weight limit of 10kg. If you need to guarantee that your order will be delivered quickly, you can choose the Royal Mail's Special Delivery option in the shopping basket. This guarantees delivery before 1pm on the working day following posting (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) - and we will always try our best to post orders received before noon, Monday - Friday, the same day. Special Delivery packages include compensation up to a value of £500 in the event of their loss. A signature is required upon delivery.

• For delivery outside the United Kingdom:  PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 28 DAYS FOR DELIVERY Orders for delivery to addresses within Europe, the USA and the rest of the world are normally dispatched within 1 working day of receipt of order by Royal Mail's International Standard service (previously known as Airmail). Please note that Royal Mail's International Standard service is NOT trackable. (Surface mail delivery is not available as an option due to its unreliability.)
  

• Charges for International Standard delivery are calculated and added automatically by the shopping basket.

• There is NO additional charge for the completion of Customs documentation, where required. However, we reserve the right to decline orders which may contravene Customs regulations applicable in the destination country.

• We are not responsible for any Customs / import duty or other local taxes payable on your order in the destination country. Any such charges are your responsibility as the buyer.

 

DELAYED OR LOST ORDERS:  Royal Mail and the courier services are usually very efficient, but they can have occasional problems... if so, we apologise on their behalf.

For un-tracked items dispatched via Royal Mail: Unfortunately once an order is posted, its fate is out of our control. As a first course of action, after 10 days have elapsed since the package was posted, please advise us by email, and check with your local Royal Mail delivery office to see if they're holding the package there for you... the usual cause of a package being delayed is that they have tried to deliver it, found nobody home, and forgotten to leave a card advising you of that fact. (You could also try checking with your neighbours - it may have been left with them.) 
You can find contact details for your local delivery office by calling Royal Mail's customer service line on 08457 740 740, or by enquiring at your local Post Office. Please note that the delivery office will only hold undelivered mail for 3 weeks - after that time it will be returned to us.

If the package still isn't forthcoming after another 21 days, please let us know and we'll claim compensation for it as lost, and arrange to send you a replacement or refund.
