Merlinite is also known as Dendritic Agate, Dendritic Opal, Psilomelane & The Magic Bearer.
It’s named after the wizard Merlin because of the stone’s ability to attract mystical & magical experiences to anyone who wears it, it's mostly black & white in colour, but can vary. The black colour can be caused by Romanechite or Psilomelane, or it can be the inclusions of Black Dendritic in the stone itself.
This stone can only be found in New Mexico in the USA.
Magical Merlinite is a beautiful example of the light & the dark, with it's black & white colour. It's known to be magical & is said to bring good luck. It's contrast invites you to look inwards & discover the deeper & darker parts of you. It can clear your psychic visions & enhance spiritual energy. Its vibrations encourage spiritual growth, & they will allow you to tap into the spirit world; a fantastic crystal if you are new to the spiritual world & want to delve deeper! Merlinite can also encourage spirit communication.
It's beneficial to 'cleanse' your crystal when you receive it/them. You can do this in a variety of ways; using sage, palo santo, running water (preferably spring water), moonlight or sunlight, just be sure to check your crystals are suitable in water & sunlight, as some are not. I recommend cleansing your crystals at least once a month. If your crystal has been 'active' a lot, or appears hot, cleanse more regularly. Over time, you will just know! You build a little relationship with your crystals, they are like little friends!
