Nippon Kodo - Koh-Do - Zen - 20 Incense Sticks

£3.75

Koh-Do Zen Incense - A complex blend offering a rich, dark and spicy fragrance.

These Zen incense sticks come from Baieido and are from their Tokusen Kobunboku incense stick range. They are based on Vietnamese Aloeswood, blended with Chinese Herbs and Spices - which makes for a fragrance which is rich, dark, spicy and complex.

'Tokusen' means Premium and 'Kobunboku' is an expression of Plum Tree blossom. This flower is well known as "The flower of peace" from ancient China.

Koh-Do - Zen incense features the following:
  • Each stick burns approximately for 30 minutes
  • Approx. length: 140mm long (5.5 inches)
  • No bamboo core, clean burning, pure scent
  • Made in Japan
This fragrance (Zen - Spicy Aloeswood) is also available in two alternative box sizes:
Baieido - Tokusen (Excellent) Kobunboku Incense - Medium Box - +/- 80 sticks (B553)
Baieido - Tokusen (Excellent) Kobunboku Incense - Large Box - +/- 480 sticks (B550)

Koh-Do incense offers an ideal introduction into the world of Japanese Incense, and an ideal choice for those wanting to try new fragrances before purchasing a large box. Using Nippon Kodo incense, each Koh-Do box is ‘linked’ to a large box – varying in quantity from 220 to 480 depending on fragrance.

The Koh-Do range is ideal for trying new fragrances, before committing to a larger, more costly box of Japanese Incense.

Much care has been placed in the design of the Koh-Do boxes – all based on Japanese masterpieces. This echoes the importance of the Japanese place on incense burning or ‘listening to incense’. Koh-Do is one of the ‘Geido’ or Fine Arts in Japanese culture, along with ‘Ikebana’ (flower arranging), ‘Shodo’ (Japanese calligraphy), ‘Sado’ (Japanese Tea ceremony), ‘Yakimono’ (Japanese pottery) and ‘Noh’ (traditional Japanese theatre).
