These are high-quality woodchips from Santalum trees, commonly known as Sandalwood and revered as a woodsy and meditatively fragrant source of aromatic material. The majority of Japanese Incense sticks use Sandalwood as a base ingredient, but these chips offer you the opportunity to burn or 'listen to' Sandalwood fragrance at it's most pure and natural.
You should indirectly burn/heat these chips using a high-quality Charcoal (available here at Vectis Karma). Place a glowing charcoal brick either on top or underneath the surface of Ash or Sand and burn/heat the Sandalwood chips above this. The best results will come from the most indirect method - heating up, rather than burning the chips. This will release the fragrance more slowly and most naturally.
